Spring break is in less than 2 weeks, so of course just like every other girl on campus, I should be at the gym everyday getting bikini body ready. Well that wouldn’t be too hard if it wasn’t also midterm week. With all the snow days we had at the beginning of the semester, my teachers have decided to cram everything they possibly can in before spring break. So this week is going to be hell. My days consist of going to class, doing homework, studying and preparing for speeches. If I’m lucky I can squeeze in time to each lunch and dinner with my friends, but so far that hasn’t happened this week. With all this, when am I going to find time to get the gym? Well yesterday I found a spare hour and instead of wasting 20 minutes of that hour changing into gym clothes and walking to the gym, I found the Victoria’s Secret ab workout video online for free so my roommate and I did that instead of going to the gym. It was actually a really good workout and to be honest I think it worked me harder than when I do go to the gym. I did the same video today and I don’t think my abs have ever been this sore! I wish that when you feel this sore you would just instantly have a six pack, wouldn’t that be nice. Tomorrow I have class all day until 7:45, so I don’t think I will have any time to go to the gym or do the workout video since I will have to start writing a paper at 8pm. So maybe the gym and I will meet on Thursday…
Happy midterm week to me! XOXO
It’s raining or snowing outside, it’s hard to tell. The gym that is a 3 minutes walk from my house is closed all weekend due to a track meet, which means I would have to walk an extra 3 minutes, making it a 6 minute walk to the new gym… in the rain or snow. I am currently completely dressed, ready to go, but cannot bring myself to walk out the door. Everything is a distraction, talking to my friends, food, and even doing homework (which normally would be the last thing on my mind). I left my room a 1:30pm to walk to the gym, it is now 3 pm and here I am, writing this post, when I could have been there and back by now. My roommate, the gym rat, is also dressed and ready to go, but she decided to skip today since she has a pretty bad cold and wants to rest, so that makes me even more unmotivated. I think it has finally hit me that all these excuses to not go have made me realize that I really shouldn’t, there is too much to do and it’s raining.
This blog is created for those of you who struggle everyday to get to the gym, but eventually do get there. My roommate, a workout enthusiast, has no problem putting on a pair of shorts and walking to the gym in any weather condition, while I postpone until the very last minute. When I do finally get to the gym, I feel great, but there is always those people doing way more than you, showing you up. I hate those people. But at the end of the day it’s always worth going, and you can never deny that sore feeling the next day, the feeling of success.
From here on out, I’ll be sharing my personal accounts at the gym, my daily struggles to get there and I hope all my followers can relate!
